Students register for 21W.823 in both the fall and spring semester for 3 total units.

Only one 9-unit subject can be used to fulfill this requirement. One elective subject is required in each semester. Students may take one undergraduate-level elective subject, but units for undergraduate-level study will not appear in the Graduate Audit.

Students are permitted to register for an additional 12 units 21W.892 Science Writing Internship in the spring term in lieu of 9-12 units of Unrestricted Elective credit, with permission of the advisor.
