Leaders for Global Operations

The Leaders for Global Operations (LGO) program is an educational and research partnership among global operations companies, MIT's School of Engineering, and the MIT Sloan School of Management. The 24-month program combines graduate education in engineering and management for those with previous postgraduate work experience. Students complete a six-month internship at one of LGO's partner companies, where they conduct research that forms the basis of a dual-degree thesis. Graduates finish the program with two MIT degrees: an MBA (or SM in management) and an SM from one of seven engineering programs. Graduates have the technical, analytical, and business skills needed to lead strategic initiatives in high-tech, operations, and manufacturing companies. LGO coordinates with the Departments of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Biological Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering (including Supply Chain Management), Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and Mechanical Engineering within the School of Engineering, and with the Operations Research Center of the MIT Sloan School of Management.
